After seeing numerous photos of Hexagon Tiles organically transitioning into hardwood flooring, I had to attempt this technique. I hadn’t seen any conclusive tutorials on doing this transition so I was left to my own devices. The final product turned out really sharp and has held up perfectly since it was installed two years ago.I will be installing a Zebrawood engineered hardwood flooring. This means it has a thin veneer of Zebrawood mounted on an MDF substrate and a little layer of cork on the bottom. It is important to have the tiles sitting approximately 1/16″ – 1/8″ higher than the hardwood floors. This is to minimize damage to the frail Zebrawood veneer.

The rack is 3 levels of metal tubes off set. The back higher than front. Any Ideas?
We're a family of 5 kids and 2 adults and we use the front door as our main entrance. The challenge is that it's a split level entryway and the space is small with no possibility to cut into the walls for storage space. We're looking for ideas to create some storage solutions for shoes, coats, hats, mittens etc. We just painted the walls and are currently replacing the living room carpet with laminate flooring. These photos show the entryway completely empty with all of our former storage solutions removed. Previously we had a board with hooks on the right wall behind the door (when the door is open) and a row of short hooks on the half wall below the railing for kids. We had a simple white wire shoe rack from Target behind the door otherwise kids would put their shoes on mats on the floor under their coats. The railing became the go-to spot for chuffing hats, mittens, tools, and other stuff. The result was a very cluttered entryway with LOTS of shoes and coats. HELP! We've been discussing removing the railing, too. Thanks for your ideas!
So my front outside porch entry has two steps up to front door that leads to the inside entry which is 18'x20' with 3 areas that have a step down. My front entrance (18'x20' hardwood floor)steps down to a large open family room also hardwood...no matter what I put in that area (area rugs, lights, chairs, plants, painting the edge) to draw attention to that 'step' people always fall off it ~ mostly because your eye is drawn up to the larger room. Is there anyway to level the entry which also has a staircase going to 2nd floor? Raising the rest of the first floor is not an option as it includes family room, kitchen, dining room and living room (also a step down here but not used as entrance) and an office (another step down). Or even a way to possibly make it a ramp vs. step?
We have an oval door and someone keeps coming by our house and is trying to look in our home. I have security cameras catching them doing this. I am not sure what they want, but it's really making my family freak out. I have two little kids that always run to the front door and look out the side windows and see who's at the door. I have some kind of was paper film on the side, but it's not enough.
