How to Make Holiday Crafts

Use appropriate colors: Stick to the theme of your holiday. Use greens and reds for the festive season and shades of orange for Halloween.
Make a wreath for Christmas: Twist a wire coat hanger into a ring. Decorate it with flowers and small leafy branches. Finish it off by spraying with snow in a can.
Carve pumpkins for Halloween: Trace a design on the pumpkin. Cut out a lid and remove the flesh. Carve out your design. Place a lit candle inside and replace the lid.
Make a 4th of July banner: Cut red, white, and blue craft paper into flag-shaped pieces. Lay them out, alternating between the three colors, then staple to a string.
Make waxed leaves for Thanksgiving: Melt paraffin wax in a small crock pot. Dip various fall leaves into the wax. Fresher leaves yield better results.
