I found it very interesting, and admit I still don't understand the concept of using this form as a wreath, in the traditional sense anyway. Of course like all of my plans they start in my head and work themselves out as I go.First order of business: focus on and complete the other projects I'd started. I put the pumpkin out of my sight for awhile so I wouldn't start it in haste & regret the outcome. Doing so allowed me to give some thought to my plan of attack.I knew I wanted this to resemble a pumpkin but be a year round decorative piece; taking time to ponder this process helped a lot. Making Your plastic pumpkins look real!

Do your plastic pumpkins look really, really fake? Well, thought I would write a quick post to tell you how to fix this problem in just a few minutes! All you need is some antiquing gel, also called antiquing paint from the acrylic paint section. My standby is "burnt umber". Pour some of the burnt umber paint onto a paper plate. Add a little water and mix. Next, using a brush, add your paint to a small section of your pumpkin. Then take a dry paper towel and rub up and down your pumpkin gently. This will leave the paint in the crevices of the pumpkin. Continue this technique all the way around your pumpkin. Once you are finished, let it dry completely. Then spray with a sealer. That is it! It makes a world of difference! Happy Fall!

I'm being quite lazy today thinking about what plants and seeds I'd like to try this season and reading about how to grow pumpkins here in Texas. Apparently I won't have to sow the seeds until June or July for a fall pumpkin patch, when I remembered about my repurposed roof wind turbine pumpkins. I had my husband drag them down since they needed replacing anyway, so I could get my creative craving on last year. I think they'd be pretty cool marking the future pumpkin patch.
