Is your closet floor a mountain of clothes because you’ve run out of hanging space? Before you buy an expensive organizer, try this! This "double rod" trick is completely removable, making it a dream for renters or anyone short on square footage.
Materials:
- Cotton or Nylon Rope (Dollar Tree)
- 1 Wooden Dowel or sturdy PVC pipe
- Scissors
Step 1: The "Before" Mess Start by clearing the floor. When your hanging rod is too high, clothes often end up in a heap below. Let's fix that!
Step 2: Measure and Cut Cut two equal lengths of rope. The length depends on how low you want the second rack to hang. Loop each rope over your existing closet rod and tie a secure knot.
Attach the Second Rod Take your wooden dowel and tie the bottom ends of the ropes to each side. Make sure the dowel is level so your hangers don't slide to one side!
Step 4: Double the Storage Now you have two levels of hanging space! Use the top for shirts and the bottom for pants or skirts. Your floor stays clear and your clothes stay wrinkle-free.
