Sofa "Baseboard" Hides Ugly Cords & Mechanics

The back of our reclining sofa is visible from the from the dining room. Unfortunately that means that the two electric cords, power strip and some mechanics are visible at the bottom. I finally made a fix - a "Baseboard" for the sofa!
This is the back of the sofa. Great that it reclines on both ends but so very ugly from the back!
Block attached to stained board
Sanded (150 then 220) and stained all wood. Most time spent staining on both sides and top then waiting for it to dry. Make sure to wipe off excess. I was learning and left it on too long. But due to humidity, I was still able to wipe it off later. It really highlights the wood grain. spray painted the metal brackets and screw heads black - took 30 min to dry. Unnecessary (save yourself almost $4 or use paint on hand). Drilled pilot holes and attached blocks to each end.
One bracket in the middle to stabilize
Added a bracket in the middle to stabilize. Probably wasn't necessary to it seemed like a good idea.
Covered table to protect it
"Baseboard" in my garage on the makeshift work table after all parts are connected.
Didn't finish bottom. Easy to spray
Sprayed with polyurathane and let dry.
Finished product
Here it is installed. Much better view. It sits up by itself after sliding it into the back. The side blocks just seem to disappear. I've been thinking about putting an inspirational quote on the baseboard but not sure. That will have to be a different project.

I had a similar issue with my sectional, it looked fine from the front, but from the dining area, all the cords and mechanics were a total eyesore. I ended up making a wooden screen to hide them, but your “baseboard” idea is much sleeker and blends so naturally. I once had to order some extra brackets online and checked https://bed-bath-and-beyond.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html for reviews, saved me from a bad buy.
