Farmhouse Hutch Makeover
This hutch couldn’t have been more perfect! Some time ago I bought this farmhouse transfer, which I love, I just needed the perfect piece for it. I finally found it!

Before
I couldn’t decide what color to do it. At first, I was going to do a navy blue and white, which would’ve been perfect, but I changed my mind and chose something brighter.

Here, I’m
prepping the piece for a complete makeover.
I lightly sanded and cleaned with soapy water.
After prepping, removing all hardware, glass ect... I’m ready to paint! I have a beautiful color from magnolia which is a bluish/green. I wanted it to be deeper so I added some black to it until I liked the tone.
The color came out gorgeous!
Back
After sanding and cleaning the back board I painted it in a fresh white. Prepped and ready for this gorgeous transfer.
Purchased from prima marketing, this gorgeous farmhouse style transfer, so easy to apply! It just sets the tone for this amazing piece!
Below is the hardware I chose. I printed out typewriter font onto brown card stock. I absolutely love how it looks! The glass pumpkin knobs blend perfectly, while adding interest to the whole look!
Once all of the paint was dry, I waxed the whole piece using johnson’s wax, then I finally put everything back together.
A gorgeous statement piece for any space! This beauty was snapped up immediately!! It looks so beautiful in my clients home!

While you did a good job with this, it left me confused. I can't recall a post where the color of the piece seemed to change in every photo -- this is some of the most inconsistent lighting I've seen, especially for something you planned to post. It looks like you distressed it, based on some photos but you make no mention of that. Why would you distress this? Not a farmhouse fan so not a fan of the transfer either. I second Karen's comment about it being obscured once items are placed in the hutch (& a large pig?? in a dining area? subliminal message anyone?). But one of my biggest issues is the drawer pulls. These are apothecary style & are usually seen as a single pull on a smaller drawer. They don't look good on this (including the finish) & overwhelm the pumpkin knobs. Why didn't you just replace the drawer knobs with the pumpkin knobs as well? For me, this particular piece is a hard no. People will buy anything & overpay for it.

Alison, I get that it's not your choice in style or colour. I think it's beautiful, it shows we're not all the same in how we like things.
This lady spent her time on this, not for critical people telling her how you would like it.
It's the lady's preference in how she wanted it. She made a great job. All people aren't the same in style or manner.
