Shimmering Thrift Flip: Color Shift Coasters
Give old concrete coasters a magical makeover! Use Color Shift paint and metallic accents to turn thrift store finds into glowing home decor. You can find more of my crazy creations (click here)
I found these stained, concrete-style coasters at the thrift store, and while the shape was great, the look was a little tired. With a little bit of "magic" paint and some gold accents, you can turn these into stunning pieces that catch the light from every angle!
Materials:
- Thrifted concrete coasters
- Plaid FolkArt Color Shift paint
- Metallic gold acrylic paint
- Small paintbrush
Step 1: The Base Coat: Make sure your coasters are clean and dry. Apply a smooth coat of the Color Shift paint over the entire surface. This paint looks different depending on how the light hits it!
Step 2: Build the Glow Depending on the original color of the concrete, you might need a second coat. Let the first layer dry completely, then add another thin layer to really make that iridescent effect pop.
Step 4: The Final Shine Once the gold is dry, your coasters are ready to use! The combination of the shifting colors and the solid gold makes these look like boutique treasures.
