DIY Lazy Susan Using Dollar Store Items
Can’t find a lazy susan at the dollar store? Learn how to make your own DIY lazy susan on a budget using simple Dollar Tree items you may already have at home. You can find more of my crazy creations (click here)
Materials:
- 1 disposable aluminum pie pan (Dollar Tree)
- 1 disposable aluminum cake pan (Dollar Tree)
- Marbles (Dollar Tree or from home)
- Items to organize (salt, pepper, napkin holder, etc.)
Lazy Susans are incredibly useful for organizing tables, cabinets, and countertops, but they aren’t always available at the dollar store when you need one. This easy DIY shows how to create your own budget-friendly lazy susan using simple items that are easy to find.
Start by placing the disposable aluminum pie pan on a flat surface. This will act as the base of your lazy susan. Pour a single layer of marbles into the pie pan, spreading them out evenly. The marbles act like ball bearings, allowing the top pan to rotate smoothly.
Next, take the disposable aluminum cake pan and gently place it on top of the marbles. Center it as best you can so the weight is evenly distributed. Once it’s in place, test the movement by gently spinning the cake pan. It should rotate easily, creating a functional lazy susan.
Now it’s time to put it to use. I placed mine on my kitchen table and used it to hold salt, pepper, and a napkin holder with napkins. It keeps everything within reach and makes the table look more organized, all without spending much money.
This DIY lazy susan is perfect for kitchens, craft rooms, or even bathroom counters. If you’d like to see even more creative ways to use a lazy susan around your home, hop over to my blog where I share additional ideas and inspiration.
