Jacarandas are also beautiful trees that do well in the Phoenix area.

  My Jacaranda was frozen one year after it was about 15' tall. It didn't die but became a bush because I had to cut it back. It's flowered once in the 5 years I've had it. Any suggestions?

  @Debe Jacaranda's need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day to bloom. If you have any other trees that are blocking the sunlight you can prune them back. Sandy soil also works best for these trees, so if you need to, try adding a bit of sand into the planting hole. Finally, if you are using fertilizer on any grass growing near and under your Jacaranda tree, you should stop. The nitrogen found in lawn fertilizers can prevent trees from flowering.
