How to Build A Horseshoe Pit
Building your own horseshoe pit is easier than you may think. I used landscaping timbers and landscape timber stakes to build the frame.
First decide on location. See link for more information on specific measurements.

Dig out the space for the frame, making it lower than ground level. See link for more details.
Add sand to create a 4" base.
Stake should be 4" above sand level. See link for more specifics on placement.
I built two pits, mirror of each other. Stakes are 40' apart. Need plenty of space for stray horseshoes!:)
