I can't believe I haven't shared this DIY on HomeTalk yet. I built this table in 2018 when I was getting my Laundry Room ready for a feature in Better Homes and Gardens. This Laundry Table is one of my all time favorite builds. You can find the full tutorial and printable build plans on my site.This table improved our Laundry Room 300%, easily. Just adding that one table made the room look so much better AND it is so much more functional too. Now we can put our keys and bags on the table when we walk in, fold laundry there. DIY Wall-Mounted Clothes Drying Rack

I repurposed a wooden baby safety gate system I got off Freecycle and a few pot-hooks into a wall-mounted clothes drying rack. The rack folds out to provide lots of room and airflow for delicates and other items I prefer to air dry, and folds flat against the wall when not in use to save space. After building this rack, I am certain that with a little creativity, many crib panels, baby safety gates and other slatted panels can be repurposed into clothes drying racks. The best part? The total cost for this project was less than $5 for a few screws and washers. Laundry Room With Curtains

My washer and dryer are in my kitchen. It drives me crazy. And until we get to remodeling that part of the house, I needed a temporary fix! So with a few failed attempts at covering them up, I was finally successful with this idea. I wanted to make this as inexpensive as I possibly could. I went to the Dollar Store for the curtain rods and the shower curtain rings. And for the curtains themselves, I scoured the thrift stores for fabric. And without any luck I went through old curtains I had from our previous home that didn't fit the windows of our new (work in progress) home. I found the length I needed (84") and went to work. I knew I wouldn't be using these curtains again so I wasn't hesitant to cut little slits in them to put the curtain rings thru. I first hung the curtain rods from the ceiling. Using a measiring tape to get the exact width and a simple piece of string to help keep everything in line. One those were in place I layed the curtains on the floor stacked one on top of another. I cut slats for 3 curtain rings per panel. And that was it. Hung them up and walked away! I completely love the temp fix to hide the washer and dryer before we can relocate them to the basement. Side Note: I strongly recommend the curtain rings. They make opening and closing the curtains extremely easy. I originally had the curtains hung without the rings and could barely pull them open. Not to mention they came up short in length. The rings make all the difference!!Thanks for checking out my post!!!!

Spring showers are coming on strong and the wet, sloppy mess from everyone's boots was starting to drive me a little crazy. So, I thought about what I had on-hand that would solve the problem. And, a baking sheet was the answer! Topped off with some river rocks, I create a functional and fancy looking boot tray. I have a small laundry room that is the only access to my back deck and yard. I’ve lived in my home now over three years now and just hated the mess of open shelving and various brooms and mops showing. It’s a small room with no options of adding more space, so I decided to use the 18” of space between the dryer and open shelving. I decided a rolling broom closet would be the perfect solution. And I decided while I was doing all this to go ahead and paint the cabinets over the washer and dryer. I had already purchased bins for the open shelving and it made a big difference. The updates just completed the look I was hoping for.

Re-purposing Hanging Wine Glass Rack.

I have a wine glass rack above my kitchen sink that I had totally quit using. I was always knocking glasses off and breaking them. I wanted my cast iron pans and frequently used skillets close at hand. Using some very inexpensive twine and shower curtain hooks I had I hung the the pans using the existing wine glass rack.

Kitchen Remodel With Custom Dark Brown Cabinets

Check out this Kitchen Remodel with Custom Dark Brown Cabinets in city of Chino Hills Orange County California. Previously, this kitchen was too dull and small amount of space to work with, we built the new custom cabinets in a U-shaped layout, with a dark brown finish to match the floors. Gray granite countertops were installed, and extended a few inches up the walls as a backsplash. Over the stainless steel stove, we used the same material to create a full-height backsplash. Just outside of the kitchen, we built a working nook with cabinetry and a counter matching that of the kitchen. It comes complete with a peg board and filing station.

Hiding the Washer and Dryer plumbing

Hi. My washer and dryer are in my bathroom. This year I want to repaint the bathroom (in white and light blue) and I would really like to hide the plumbing. Does anyone have a bright idea? The only idea I came up with was to put a curtain hanging from under the cupboards but any other idea would be welcomed. Thanks and Happy New Year to Everyone. :)

How can I make over this laundry room?

Hello! When we bought our house, the first room I updated was the laundry room. I painted the brown walls and ceilings that had been sponged over in beige. The grey makes it look so much better. I also put a cover on the dangling light bulb. But I still feel like it needs something more. I want the pipes covered desperately but when we had our home inspected, the guy said that it’s preferable to have them out, but they’re so ugly! And I have no idea how to cover them. I also feel that the space is underutilized- the alcove behind the door would be fantastic for shelving. I want to remove the door and replace it with curtains or something, but I don’t want it to look cheap. The water heater is behind the door so there’s not too much I can do about that. Please help!

Basketball Laundry Basket

It’s my son’s birthday February 21st. So, we wanted to make him a basketball hoop laundry basket, hoping it would encourage him to put his dirty clothes in a basket. We used all scrap wood we had, but had to order the net/rim off of Amazon. We cut the piece of plywood down to 22 inches wide by 20 inches long. We used 1x2 for the pattern. We used all 45 angles for our cuts or 90 degree angles (which means some areas didn’t need cuts). We used a miter saw to cut down the 1x2’s and a nail gun to attach the 1x2’s to the plywood. You could use wood glue and a nail gun, but we decided to just use a nail gun. We attached all the pieces then used putty to fill in the holes. Once that dried we sanded it and spray painted it black. Then attached the rim and net with two screws. We had a basket around the house we used to put underneath the basket where the dirty clothes would land. Hoping this is a good way for his dirty clothes to not land on the floor. A mom can dream, right?

We are lucky that we do have a tumble dryer but for the clothes that I didn't want to tumble, I needed to find a tidier and easier solution.This is a super easy but very effective way of keeping all the washing in one place and drying it without the added creases that comes from the clothes rails.
