The Easiest DIY Kitchen Backsplash. Ever.

Are you looking to update your backsplash? Hoping to DIY it and avoid labor cost? Then this backsplash is for you!

Take a moment to ponder this kitchen- the backsplash doesn't even go the entire way, the harvest gold vent hood, the green laminate, and not to mention the ugly hardware. Whew, this kitchen needed an update!

After carefully measuring the space for my backsplash, I ordered materials from a company that specializes in unique backsplashes! They make designs of all colors and prints- even some that resemble antique ceiling tiles! The only two tools you'll need are a box cutter and a pencil. Before actually adhering the sheets to your walls, lay them out against the wall. I did this twice (measure twice, cut once!). I used a pencil to mark my cuts.

Once you are absolutely sure of a cut, just score the line with your box cutter. The sheets will literally pop off in a smooth line. The edges will eventually be covered up!

To adhere a sheet, I used Liquid Nails. I made S shapes on the back and then firmly pressed it against the wall. Each piece slides together (much like a puzzle) to create a seamless appearance.

For exposed edges, they make trim pieces for aesthetic purposes. The size of trim pieces vary, so you can get it just right for your project. It was still a little too tall in some parts for my project, so I just used my box cutter to trim off the top portion.

The end result was beautiful! It took me a partial afternoon to begin and complete this project. It was incredibly easy, and I did it all by myself!
