We live in Houston, TX we eat a lot of TexMex food down here! We go through lots of hot sauce in our house and usually have several bottles of Cholula around. I noticed how cute the bottles are with their little wooden knobs on the lid and decided to try to upcycle them. I also finally figured out a way to upcycle the sand I'd been collecting from our vacations!
The first thing you want to do is remove the label and clean the bottle. GooGone works especially well for getting the stickiness left from the labels off of the bottle!
Next you'll use alcohol and a cotton ball to remove any numbers printed on the bottle so you have a clean, empty surface.
To add your vacation destinations, you can cut the words out with a Cricut machine like I did, use stickers, or hand write them on the bottle!
Next use a funnel or a sheet of paper to pour sand into the bottle!
This definitely works best if you've visited locations with different colored sand!
The finished bottle is a fun way to upcycle AND to preserve vacation memories :)
