Scrap Wood Gnomes
Do you like to use up all of your wood scraps and not waste any? I hate throwing out wood, so I came up with these cute little gnomes that used up all of my scrap wood pieces! Let’s get started.
Materials
Scrap wood (mine was 7.5”)
Faux fur
Twine
Wood bead (1")
Pencil
Ruler
Saw
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Tags, charms, keys (for embellishng)
I had all of these items on hand so this project was free for me. Yay!
Start with your pieces of scrap wood. These are 7.5" but you can use larger or smaller pieces.
I then took a ruler and created my point going from the top center to the side.
This would be my gnome's hat.
I then cut along the lines.
Once you cut along both lines, you should have something similar to this.
I took my faux fur and wrapped it around the bottom half of my gnome. I got this fur from Hobby Lobby.
Next, I cut the fur. I first pushed the fur apart to mark where I needed to cut.
Once you have cut it, pull the fur out to the sides so you can't see the edge of the fabric.
Then use your hot glue to stick the beard to your gnome.
Just like this.
I used these wooden beads for the gnome's node. Just use your hot glue to stick it on.
Now you can embellish your gnomes however you like.
I used some twine and some tags to add to their hats. I also painted some of their hats. You could also use paper and mod podge. Your options are endless!

So cute. Try cutting fur from back. So much easier. Just cut backing and fur will look great.
