Tired of store-bought polishes full of chemicals? This easy, all-natural furniture polish will leave your wood looking radiant and smelling amazing. Let’s get started!

Materials You'll Need:

  • 2 parts olive oil
  • 1 part fresh lemon juice
  • A soft cloth or microfiber towel
  • A small mixing bowl or jar

Step 1: Mix Your Polish

In a small bowl or jar, combine 2 parts olive oil with 1 part lemon juice. Stir or shake gently to mix the two ingredients thoroughly. That’s it! Your polish is ready.

I should warn you though, that a little really does go a looooong way with this mix! I used 2 tsp oil to 1 tsp lemon juice, and that was more than enough for me to polish 2 side tables, a TV stand, and a buffet table in my dining room!

Step 2: Prep Your Furniture

Before polishing, wipe down the surface with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Let it dry completely to avoid streaks.

This oil mixture is for polishing only, and will not clean your furniture of any fingerprints, food spills, dust, etc. Do NOT skip this step!

Step 3: Apply the Polish

Dip a soft cloth into the polish mixture and wring out any excess. Gently rub the cloth onto your wood furniture in circular motions, focusing on dull or dry areas.

Step 4: Buff for a Shine

Using a clean, dry section of the cloth, buff the surface to remove excess polish and bring out a natural, beautiful shine.

Notice how you can see my reflection on the surface of the table now?! Like I said before, a little dab is all you need :)

A little reminder of where we started...

And the after! Not only is the wood shinier, but there's a richer tone to the wood. I love it!

Step 5: Enjoy the Glow!

Step back and admire your freshly polished furniture! This DIY solution not only adds a gorgeous shine but also nourishes and protects your wood.

Pro Tip: Store leftover polish in a sealed jar for up to a week, but make a fresh batch if the lemon starts to smell off.

Give this quick, chemical-free polish a try and see the difference for yourself. Your furniture (and your nose) will thank you!
