Noodle Life Tips and Tricks
This post was transcribed by a member of the Hometalk editorial team from the original HometalkTV episode.
Here are some household tips and tricks using a pool noodle that you don't want to miss! You can see more of my crazy creations here
For this first tip, I truly cannot believe I didn't come up with this sooner. We all have buckets that we mop with and they have wheels and sometimes they don't fit in our sinks. Or sometimes you do have a sink that it fits in but it’s just too heavy to lift up once the water is in it. Â
Every pool noodle has a hole in it.
Push your facet into the hole at the end of the pool noodle.
Take the other end of the pool noodle and hold it down so that it aims in the center of the bucket.
Turn the water on slowly. You don't want to turn it on too fast because you want to make sure it's not going to spray out the top.
Fill the bucket to the level you want. How easy is that? If you wanted a longer pool noodle, you could glue an extra length of pool noodle on and seal the seam with duct tape.
My second tip is for those of you that have drafts coming in under your doors. Â
Start by grabbing a pillowcase from the dollar store.
Next, take a pool noodle and lay it against the bottom of your door and mark off the length of your door.
Go ahead and cut the pool noodle to the right length.
Slip the noodle inside the pillowcase and push it tight to one side.
Roll the noodle and pillowcase up until you are at the end of the pillowcase.
Add a dab of hot glue to the center to hold the pillowcase in place tightly around the pool noodle.
Run the hot glue along the edge until it's all glued down.
At the open end of the pillowcase, tuck it into the hole in the pool noodle.
Attach three pieces of adhesive velcro over the seam. Once in the middle and one at either end.
Peel the backing off of the adhesive velcro and stick it to the base of your door. I can still open and close the door with ease.
For my final tip, I want to show you how to save some space in your closet so grab another pool noodle and cut it in half. How long you make it will depend on how many things you want to hang up. Â
Lay your broom, mop, etc… over the pool noodle to see how you want them spaced out.
Mark each spot where you will hand your cleaning supplies.
Now go ahead and make a split into about half of the pool noodle.
Next, flip the noodle over and attach the same adhesive velcro to the back of the noodle where you make each slit.
Once the velcro is in place, peel off the backing and push it against the wall. Follow the directions for your adhesive to know how long to press it against the wall to get it to stick.
Open up the slits once the correct amount of time has passed and hang up your broom, mop, and anything else you’d like to store.
I hope this inspires you to grab some pool noodles and try some of these easy tips in your home.

So simple, it's brilliant
I have trouble getting command velcro strips to stay adhered to my textured walls. I see in one of the photos your walls are textured like mine - do you have any problems with them staying on the wall?
how is the pool noodle attached to wall?
