Once again I went to my Happy Place AKA Goodwill . I only had a little money in my pocket but just enough for this little treasure. It was a sad looking Lane cedar chest upholstered bench . It looked like the person had a cat and it was scratched and the corner of the upholstery was shredded. While I was there I looked it up on my phone. One on Ebay was selling for over $300 . The price was $29.99. Sold. The only problem was again I was driving my Spark one of the smallest cars on the market. But I fit in.
Yup I fit it in the spark . Amazing little car.
I was even able to close the doors
It's hard to see but the top was shredded and the side was scratched
pretty beat up.
The inside was perfect
I removed the top fabric and saw there were 8 screws holding the top on.
I dug thru my scraps in the basement and found enough memory foam and fabric from other projects to recover the top
I used Old English scratch cover to fix the scratches after I wiped it all down with Denatured Alcohol.
And then I dragged it upstairs and put it at the end of my bed . Almost matches the rest of the furniture.

Copy of listing I found on Ebay after I was all finished.

bought a lane cedar chest just last week on half price furniture day at Savers !! It was 19.99 !! Like yours? Was listed over $300 on Ebay. It's blonde color and not in as good shape as yours, but...going to sand it, paint it..and add a cushion to the top . THANKS for the hints !!
