We had a second hand tiled top table. Cost around £20 pounds. The tiles where dated (you know 1980's kitchen tiles?!) Husband helped me bash them out and I set to work....
We then started buying lego bricks from bootsales and ebay and facebook selling groups. Only certain shapes could work. I rebuilt it a couple times as sometimes you had a run on grey bricks and you don't want that block colour.
This is the top finally finished before we painted the wood.
Then we painted the wood chalk board matt black. We thought it added a clean child like colour to the wood.
The black really makes the colour 'pop'.
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Lego bricks (bootsales and ebay)
- Old table (second hand shop)
- Chalk board paint (B&Q)

You could also put the Lego flat bases on the tabletop and put baskets underneath to hold your kids legos. Fun play table

Very cool idea! When you say it lifts in one piece to clean, how did you manage to do that?
