Pretty Planters
by
Sarah Burnell
(IC: blogger)
I created these beautiful planters in shades of green, white, coral, and blue using a few simple, long-blooming flowers.
I added gravel and newspaper to the bottom of my planters, to aid with drainage. I then planted a combination of Creeping Jenny, coral Petunias, white Impatiens, and blue (purplish) Salvia.
I used the Creeping Jenny as the "spiller", the Impatiens and Petunias as "filler" and the Salvia as the "thriller".
These planters bloomed well all summer. I dead-headed frequently and watered them about every day. They enjoyed a mix of full and partial sun, as they were on my deck.

William on Jul 13, 2016Very pretty! Every time I try to mix plants, some grow pushing and killing others. Never can get it right.

Thank you for telling exactly what you used! So many times people don't do this. These are so lovely!
