Create Beautiful Home Decor With Doilies
Have some old lace lying around? Try this! Check out the video for more how-to's!
Step 1:
Start by blowing up a balloon or two, and tie them.
Step 3:
Once the mod podge has dried, pop the balloon with a thumbtack, and peel it from the lace.
Step 2:
Next, lay a doily on top of the balloon and coat it with mod podge.
And that's it! Now you have a multipurpose lace bowl to use with tea lights, jewelry, keys, the possibilities are endless!
Step 1:
Grab an old lamp and remove the lampshade with an exact-o knife.
Step 2:
Then, hot glue a doily to the wire lampshade, repeat this until the wire lampshade is covered.
Step 1:
Grab a bowl an apply cling wrap to it, I layered a total of 3 times.
This easy lighting update will add a whimsical touch to any room!
Step 2:
Next, lay a doily on top and cut it into 4 seconds.
Step 3:
Then, hot glue the pieces back together so they lay flat on the bowl, and don't have any wrinkles on the sides.
Step 4:
After it's glued together, cover the doily with mod podge and wring it out.
Step 5:
Lay it back on the bowl, then, let it dry.
Step 6:
After it's dry, peel the cling wrap from the inside of the bowl.
Step 3:
Lay it on a table or mantle and decorate it with greenery, cotton, jars, the possibilities are endless!
Step 7:
Finally, ad a knob or other decorative handle on top.
Now your cakes, cookies, and pancakes will be covered and saved for later!
Step 1:
Begin by lay out your design.
Step 2:
Next, stitch it together!
Step 1:
Grab a terracotta pot and hot glue some doilies on it! Cut and repeat this process until you're happy with the amount of lace!

Love using doilies for crafting ideas. Many years ago, I purchased a couple of pastel colored easter baskets made from well starched doilies and they were decorated with ribbon and tiny ribbon flowers. These are so easy to make and a fun project and a great way to have a basket/bowl made from grandma's or mom's heirlooms. LOVE THIS.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Where can you find Doilies. I can remember my Grandmother had some when I was little. Maybe at an antique store? Expensive?
.
What is the flooring under the doilies?
Very cute ideas! The cake cover doesn't seem to protect the cake (Or other food it might be covering) very well. Doesn't air flow through and couldn't flies just go right on in?
