    I did know some of this. I am now looking for how to whiten a t-shirt with a name on it and not ruin the name. Any ideas?

    After drying your clothes, use the dryer sheet to clean the lint screen.

      I used to do this. Then, I learned that the dryer sheet residue actually helps block the small holes of the lint screen. Apparently, the test is running water onto the screen. I could definitely be wrong about this.

    No Profplumb, you are not wrong. The dryer sheets do put off a residue that will block your screen, so you should clean it periodically, esp if you use them in every load. I only use dryer sheets in a load of clothes that I want to removed static electricity or a load that might have pet hair to remove. I never use on clothes that do not produce static electricity. I do not ever put dryer sheets into a load of dryer sheets.
