Vintage Writing Bureau Transformation

This wooden writing bureau is such a useful piece of furniture but needed some updating.
I painted the bureau grey on the outside and white on the inside. The inside actually took as long as the exterior to paint because it was quite fiddly painting the compartments. Once dry I painted a matt varnish over everything.
Then I added the stencil design to the pull down desk top. I like the fact that you get a lovely surprise when you open the lid and it turns the piece into something really unique.
Using a selection of stencils I applied the same grey paint as used on the outside so that the whole piece is really unified
