So, let's dive into the three easy wire basket decor ideas that you can DIY using Dollar Tree items.
Wire Basket Shelves with Paper Towel Holder
The first project is this simple tiered stand that can be used to store a variety of products.
1. Gather supplies
Head to your nearest Dollar Tree and pick up the necessary materials for this project:
- Gold rectangle baskets (small and large)
- White wire baskets
- Paper towel holder
- Zip ties
- E 6000 glue
- Spray paint
2. Preparing the wire baskets
Take two white round wire baskets and cut out the middle portion of each to create an opening.
An easy way to do this is to flip the baskets over and place the paper towel dispenser on top. This will give you the exact center you need to cut away. It is important to ensure it is directly in the middle so your basket sits straight.
Next, slide the wire basket over the paper towel holder and secure it in place with zip ties at the bottom.
Repeat with the second wire basket but before sliding it onto the holder, secure zip ties in place at the height you would like the second tier to sit. These act as a ledge for your basket to sit on.
Again, secure the second basket in place with zip ties, then apply E6000 glue around the zip ties for extra security.
Let it set for 12-24 hours before spray painting the wire baskets your desired color. I chose to use this gorgeous gold color.
3. Finalizing the gold wire basket stand
I'm using the basket in my bathroom to store lotions and sprays. But this idea also works great in the kitchen, laundry room, or even an office to organize all your different supplies.
Two-Tier Fruit Basket or Craft Caddy
This is an extremely easy DIY to add some industrial style to a kitchen or anywhere that you need storage in your home really!
Here's how to make it:
1. Gather materials
- Two small gold rectangular wire baskets
- One large flat gold rectangular wire basket
- Four zip ties
2. Assemble the wire shelving
Start by zip-tying the smaller rectangular basket at the bottom of the large rectangular basket. Cut off the excess zip ties.
Repeat the process at the top with the second small rectangular basket. Cut off the excess plastic from the zip ties.
Now you can place it on the counter in your kitchen and use it to hold fruit and vegetables.
I decided to use it in my craft room. This basket is great for storing supplies I use often and want to easily be able to grab them when needed.
You could of course spray paint this any color you wish to match your decor.
Decorative Wire Basket with Candlestick Holder
Want to add some farmhouse-style decor to your living room or bedroom? Try making this decorative wire basket.
1. Gather materials
For this project, you will need:
- One circle gold wire basket
- One candlestick holder
- E6000 adhesive
- Woodcraft round
- Deco art metallic finish
- Drill bit
- Fancy drawer pull with a nut and bolt
2. Attach the basket and candlestick
To begin I attach the gold circle basket to the top of the candlestick holder using E6000 glue. This needs to sit and dry for at least 12 hours before you move on to the next step.
3. Prepare the wooden craft round
Paint the woodcraft round with your desired color. I went with Deco Art's metallic gold finish. This wood round fits the circumference of the top of my wire basket and when finished will be the lid of my decor piece.
Next, you need to measure the center of the wood round with a ruler or measuring tape.
Once you have your center, go ahead and drill a hole.
Now all you need to do is slide your fancy drawer pull through the hole and attach it with the nut it came with.
Use the wooden craft round as a lid for the wire holder basket.
Fill the basket with seasonal decor items like Easter eggs and moss or any other items of your choice. I love the rustic style this adds to my home.
