How to Make a Dollar Tree Jewelry Display in 30 Minutes

I’ll be honest, I didn’t set out to make a jewelry display the last time I walked into Dollar Tree. I went in for cleaning supplies and walked out with a splash screen. You know how that goes. But once I spotted that mesh screen, I instantly thought, this would be perfect for organizing my earrings.

If you’ve been looking for a creative way to display your jewelry without spending a fortune, this Dollar Tree jewelry display is about to become your new favorite project. It’s quick, affordable, and surprisingly sturdy. Plus, it adds such a pretty touch to your bathroom or vanity.

Let me show you exactly how to make it.

Tools and Materials

Here’s everything you’ll need:

  • 1 Dollar Tree splash screen
  • 1 Dollar Tree napkin holder
  • 1 small round mirror (Dollar Tree)
  • Spray paint in your favorite color
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Screwdriver

Removing the handle from the splash screen to create a flat jewelry display base

1. Disassemble the Splash Screen

Start by flipping your splash screen over. You’ll see a screw holding the handle and label in place. Use your screwdriver to remove it.

Set the handle aside. We won’t need it for this project.

This leaves you with a clean, flat mesh surface that’s perfect for holding earrings and pins.

Why this works:

That fine metal mesh is ideal for jewelry with thin posts or hooks. It gives you tons of hanging space without looking cluttered.

2. Paint the Screen and Napkin Holder

Take the splash screen and napkin holder outside and give them a good coat of spray paint in your favorite color.

I love using matte black or brushed gold for a chic look, but white or blush would be gorgeous too.

Make sure you coat all sides evenly, especially the edges. Let everything dry completely before bringing it back inside.

Tip:

Light, even coats prevent drips. Two thin coats look much better than one thick one.

3. Attach the Mirror

Now for the fun part.

Flip your small round mirror over. On the back, you’ll notice small feet or supports. Add three dots of hot glue to those feet.

Place the mirror right in the center of the painted splash screen. Press gently and hold for a few seconds to let the glue set.

This little mirror instantly upgrades the project from “crafty” to “boutique-inspired.”

4. Add the Napkin Holder for Extra Storage

Next, flip your painted napkin holder over and add a generous line of hot glue to the bottom.

Place it on the opposite side of the screen, balancing it visually across from the mirror.

Hold it in place until the glue sets.

This gives you extra storage for bracelets, watches, or even small hair accessories. It also acts as a stand, helping support the display.

5. Style and Display Your Jewelry

Once everything is dry and secure, take your new jewelry display to your bathroom, bedroom, or wherever you get ready in the mornings.

Slide your earrings right through the mesh. It comfortably holds studs, hooks, and even lightweight dangle earrings.

You can also use it for:

  • Pins
  • Brooches
  • Small necklaces
  • Anything with a thin needle-style back

Mine holds my entire earring collection with room to grow, and the best part? It only cost a few dollars to make.
