Dollar Store Christmas DIY
You may laugh, but I put these really sweet Christmas signs together using a plunger! Yep! I found these great signs and wanted to use them to make a tree, here's how I did it.
First thing I did was cut these signs up with my saw (you could also use a razor).
Here they are, all sliced up and ready to go.
I then grabbed YES a plunger! These stand on their own really nicely, and make a nice tree base.
I painted the plunger part with hammered metal spray paint and sprinkled cinnamon on it (you heard me!) and then resprayed it over with a clear top coat. This technique gives it a nice rustic look, and if you want to see how I've used this technique in other projects, check out my How to Make a Dollar Store Rusty Cake Stand.
I then glued each piece of the sign onto the pole and added some wood snow to the plunger. That's all you need to do to make this adorable winter wonderland sign.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Why were 2 plungers shown? Did you make 2 of these?
Is hammered metal spray called just that? Not sure about the whole floor thing, but I can't imagine it getting wet all of the time? And another thought is using non-holiday signs for porches and/or yard art.
What did you use for the star?
Such a cute inexpensive idea. Thank you.
