10-Minute Doorstop Santa Gnome Made With a Plastic Jug

1. Weigh down the jug
Grab a plastic 1-gallon water (or milk jug) to make this cute Christmas gnome. Add rice or small rocks to the jug to give it weight to use as a doorstop!

2. Glue the fabric to the jug
I found this plaid fleece scarf at Dollar Tree. It was the perfect size to cover my water jug, but any fleece fabric will work. Just cut your scarf or fabric to size and hot-glued it along the seam to the jug.
3. Fill the Santa gnome hat
Next, you'll need to fill a Santa hat with a little Poly-Fil stuffing. As an extra step, I chose to cut off the white faux fur at the bottom of my hat so the white beard on my gnome would stand out better.
4. Make the gnome beard
Cut a wide triangle of faux fur with an X-ACTO knife to make a beard. Do not use scissors to cut the beard, as this will cut the fur along the edges giving it a flowing beard look.

5. Assemble the gnome
Hot glue the beard to the jug where you want it, then the hat, and a nose to finish.

They say gnomes are a symbol of good luck. I don't know about that, but this little guy certainly brings a whole lot of holiday cheer with him!

I really like this project, wouldn’t it be cute to make a lil gnome family. Not necessarily for a door stop but more for a lil gnome vignette. Four slightly different sizes and patterns. I think I’m gonna try this out. Thanks for the inspiration 🎄

Cute, but like some people, have phobias about clowns, I don't care for gnomes. Don't ask why.........May make a snowman or Santa using basic idea....Thanks! 🎅 🌲
