Outdoor Hot Tub Bench and Towel Rack
We’ve done a ton of work on our backyard this summer. We raised our deck to be able to step into our hot tub. It’s made a huge difference, however we were lacking somewhere to hang our towels or sit when we got out.
I had a bunch of leftover wood to use for this project so it didn’t cost anything.
This project would be a build to size bench. My final size is:
5ft high x 26” wide x 18” seat height x 17.5” deep.
Laying out the pieces always allows you to adjust as needed before screwing pieces into place.
This is the base we built for the bench that would be screwed on to our deck.
We built up the base before adding extra supports.
The next step was attaching the back support pieces.
Once the back was attached, we connected the side pieces and squared it off.
Before attaching all the side slats to close in the bench support, we added middle supports.
Then we began closing in by adding fence boards along the outside.
We started attaching side pieces from the back. This left a smaller spot in the front, we just trimmed down a piece with the saw.
The next step once the bench was all done, was to lay it down and nail the back slats on.
I mixed some black into a can of white to make a light grey paint.

Nicely done little project. We always enjoy these projects using wood, they simply add beauty and oftentimes a little warmth to an area.

I like it but Personally I would have put clear varnish on it rather than paint. Nice project, well done!
