1. Prepare the Table
First, remove the glass top from your patio table and set it aside.
Give the base of the table a thorough cleaning to remove any dirt or debris.
This ensures your table is fresh and ready for its makeover.
2. Choose and Clean the Shower Curtain
Head to your local dollar store and pick up a shower curtain with a pattern you like.
Once you have your shower curtain, lay it out and decide which part of the pattern you want to use for your table.
3. Clean the Glass Top
Next, take the glass top and clean it thoroughly. Wipe off any dust or debris to ensure a smooth surface for the Mod Podge and shower curtain.
4. Apply Mod Podge to the Glass
Lay the glass top on a flat surface and apply a generous, even layer of matte Mod Podge over it.
Make sure the entire surface is covered to ensure the shower curtain adheres properly.
5. Attach the Shower Curtain
Carefully lay the shower curtain over the glass, smoothing it out from the center to the edges with your hands.
Use a plastic scraper to remove any air bubbles and ensure the curtain is pressed firmly onto the glass.
6. Let It Dry
Flip the glass over onto the shower curtain and let it dry completely.
The weight of the glass will help press the curtain down evenly.
7. Trim the Excess
Once the Mod Podge is fully dry, use an X-Acto knife to trim off any excess shower curtain hanging over the edges.
8. Seal the Surface
Apply another coat of Mod Podge over the top of the shower curtain to seal it in and protect the surface.
Allow this coat to dry completely before handling the glass.
9. Reassemble the Table
Once everything is dry, replace the glass top into the base of your patio table. Your table is now complete and ready to use!
