Dollar Store Drawer Organizer
This project is an easy way to make your home decor look more upscale. I picked up these little plastic drawers today, but I wanted to make them look a little less cheap. I decided to use some nice wood and give them more of an upscale look.
Tools and Materials
- Drawers
- Tape measure
- Wooden boards
- Saw
- Spray paint
- Sandpaper
- Nail
- Nail gun
Measure and Nail
I first measured the height and width of the drawers, and cut the boards to fit around them. I then nailed the bottom piece to the two side panels.
Check that the Drawers Fit
I then made sure the drawers fit inside nicely.
Measure and Cut the Top
Then I measured the top piece, and cut that out as well.
Paint and Sand
You can keep the wood look, and perhaps add a nice varnish. I decided to paint it, so I spray painted it all over with oiled rub bronze and lightly sanded the edges. This gives it that nice distressed look that I love.
And that's it, plastic drawers with a new look. Just a small upgrade!
I just love how easy this was and how adorable it came out! All for under $5! Check out more ideas at Gilbert Marketplace Youtube channel
