Color Block Wall Arch
I wanted to give our dinning room a new look. I've always been into color block walls so I decided to finally try it out, and I'm obsessed.
For the supplies I used:
• large leveler
• paint
• painters tape
• pencil
• thread
• paint brush
• tape measure
First thing I did was measure.
I made my arch wall 34 inch, and marked it.
Also, tape up any space you don't want to paint
I laid the tape measure on the ground and took a step back to make sure it was centered on my wall
Then once I was happy with my placing I marked the other side
Next I used the leveler to make my vertical line where I made my markings
Should look like this
Do it to both sides and it should look like this.
I also went ahead and used the leveler to connect both lines to make a rectangle
Next tie string or in this case I used thread to a pencil
Using your measuring tape find your center point on the top line.
Also measure out the thread at halfway point. Should be 17in long
Hold the end of the string at the center and with the pencil make a half circle
Should look like this once your done
Next tape up the straight edges
Start painting. I free handed the top
I always do about two coats. Once its dry remove the tape
You might come across uneven parts I just free handed and filled them in
And your all done
I decorated it once it was all dry.

I was wanting to do this in the bathroom behind my medicine cabinet, which is basically square. Anyone think it would look odd?

Love this! The great thing about paint, if you make error you can always paint again.

Wow! That arch really "makes" the mirror and table; it unifies them into an extraordinary decorative statement!
I can't tell from the picture if you took the outlet cover off, or you just carefully painted around it. The former would be much quicker, so if you chose the latter, is there a reason why? Kudos to you on an imaginative twist. I've never even had the nerve to try an accent wall!
How did you decide the height of the arch? I know you put the width...but height wise, how did you determine that?
