elmers! Just plain old inexpensive Elmer’s glue will work. Paint it on with a brush (or foam pad if you prefer) in a thin complete layer.
😊
Any water soluble white glue like children use will do the job!
This is a decoupaged chest I did. I always use Elmers glue for all my decoupage projects. . . paper, wood, glass, metal etc. This piece was done over 10 years ago.
Try modge podge from a craft store.
There are LOTS of choices out there but the biggest determining factor is the purpose & use of the finished project. Elmer's wood glue will work, as well as many others. Depending on the ultimate use of the project, you will likely want to seal it with a finish of some kind like decoupage, varnish or spray shellac.
Happy to help
I like the viscosity and final look of modge podge best. Remember use a spray sealer first followed by ModgePodge. The versatile feature about modge podge is that it comes in different final finishes like clear, matte and gloss.
I would use modge podge or Dixie Belle clear coat. Both work very well.

Hi Lexi, hope this helps you out. You can use Diamond glue, or mod podge for this, they both work great!
Or tacky glue https://canada.michaels.com/en/aleenes-original-tacky-glue/10503417.html?r=g&cm_mmc=PLASearch-_-google-_-MICH_Shopping_CA_N_Craft+%26+Hobbies_N_PMAX_BOPIS_N-_-Generic&kpid=go_cmp-18653424478_adg-_ad-__dev-c_ext-_prd-10503417&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAtOmsBhCnARIsAGPa5yafI1BF8jFq7I3SpNQ_j4oqNSCnYd5OtmDu3hvz3pc5M7P-vQRaLDgaAnhOEALw_wcB
Mod Podge or Alene's Tacky Glue.
Elmer's glue, it dries clear inspite of it's white color.
You can use Modge Podge as an adhesive.
Modge Podge is made for projects like this.
Any type of glue that dries clear will work to adhere paper to wood.
Wood glue or white glue; apply a thin, even layer to the wood surface, carefully position the paper, and press firmly to ensure a strong bond while allowing adequate drying time.
