Organizing Your Craft Room

Take inventory: Figure out what supplies you have and what storage containers and accessories you’ll need to best organize them.
Label everything: Use labels to make sure you know where everything is. Group items and store them in separate, labeled containers for easy access.
Repurpose drawers: Add more storage inside your drawers using silverware or jewelry drawer organizers. Alternatively, you can make your own custom organizers.
Use magnetic strips as storage: For your metal supplies such as scissors or pins, consider adding a magnetic bar where you can grab and put things back as necessary.
Organize by color: Organizing your supplies by color will not only look pretty but make things easier to find as well.

I’m not sure what took us so long to make this giant peg board! It’s definitely an afternoon project, & it doesn’t take long to get up at all. Armoire Turned Craft Chest

We found this antique clothes armoire at an estate sale for $5.00. After it sitting in my basement for almost a year, I decided to turn it into a craft cabinet. Not that I need one, I have a whole craft room, but I was sure someone would love it. Made my own chalk paint for this project with 1/3 cup plaster of paris and 1/3 cup water mixed well, and then added to 1 1/2 cups regular latex paint. I have made it thinner, but like the thicker homemade chalk paint. No need to sand the wood, just paint on. Then I sanded it, made it look all distressed and added the stencils, which I created in a software program, and cut out of sign vinyl.

This project is a great way to give plastic shoe boxes a little color, as well as use for organizing! I used these boxes in the classroom, to help hold various items. So much thread and no way of knowing exactly what I had. Then I came up with the idea of using those white plastic trays at Walmart that come 3 for a dollar. Screwed to the wall sideways, with the bottom one tilted up slightly using an empty toilet paper toll behind it, it was the perfect solution.

Ideas to store wallpaper rolls?

I collect vintage abd not so vintage wallpaper that I use for various crafting project. I have a Lot of wallpaper. They are currently stored in old file cabinet drawers that sit on the floor in a closet in my craft room. Some are in a basket in a corner, the boarder wallpaper in plastic containers. I need an attractive way to some out in my craft room. They are cumbersome to go through each time I'm looking for a color or pattern. I've tried many ways by color, all the plaids or floral grouped together. Standing them in the bottom of the small closet. When I pull one out the rest fall over and putting them back is time consuming as well as damaging. I don't want to hang them on the wall they are heavy and could really damage the sheet rock. Does anyone have a idea of a way to organize them and store them so it's not such a mess to find the one I need. Thanks for helping!!!
