I have no doubt this will work to clean the shower glass, but please add a caution here: Using this as a spray aerosolizes chemicals not intended to be inhaled nor broadly absorbed by skin, mucous membranes, or eyes. In fact, it doesn't take much exposure to become poisonous or to damage airway and lung tissue.

I stopped using bars of soap and switched to body wash. While I still squeegee the glass doors, I have had no build up. I found that most , if not all, have wax in the compound which builds up and is most difficult to remove.

I did the exact same years ago after fighting soap scum and the residue. I went through a phase where I thought it would be cool to make my own bar soap but I quit because I can’t stand soap scum and the drying effect of bar soap. Switched to liquid soap many years and won’t be switching back.
