Looking for ideas for repurposing a (cheap) plastic lazy susan

Question

I am looking for ideas on how to repurpose an old rubbermaid spice rack (lazy susan). This is the cheap small table top kind.

mmm I like that decoupage idea! I've got one of those avocado green ones from the 70's probably? Handy but ugly in color. Could be used anywhere then.

spray paint it a bright color and put your nail polish on it

There are great spray paints for plastic in a big selection of colors...if you want to display things on it, paint to match room decor, special occasions, etc. If you want to use it inside a cabinet, no need to change it. Good for spices, canned goods, anything like that. The above ideas are also good ones. I had one that I took off the support rods and top, and used the bottom for a cake decorating turntable. (much less expensive than the Wilton's turntable). The support rods and top then became the display for a cake topper. Or, you could leave it together, put the cake on top, and some decorations on the bottom.

U can pant in then put in in u craft room or u could take it apart and use it on the table for your salt and pepper or u can  take it apart and use the bottom and put 4 small cans around the outside and put a coffee can in the middle and use that for u pens or paint brushes

I put them everywhere...kitchen cabinets (for spices), refrigerator, (for condiments), in bathroom closet, (for cleaners, etc.). Makes it easier to get at what you want!

If you want it to be seen first paint it. Then it could be used on a buffet table for cookies, I love these for storage for paint in the craft room, when working on a project especially painting they're great to hold the item then you don't get as much paint on your fingers turning the item. You could use them in places where you have plants that you often have to turn because they bend toward the light. It could be used in the garage for storage of small tools. And if nothing else they are great fun for children to put their small cars or animals on and give it a spin. Love these things!

I had 3 lazy susans, had huds paint all one color. then stacked on 2 glass candle sticks to make a tower for my sewing room. placed on the counter and used it for organizing my sewing finds.

If you have no need to use it for spices or condiments in the kitchen, you could decorate it with Washi tape and put with your crafts to hold things. Or on a night stand with a plant on top and the bottom shelf is for hand lotions, chapstick, nail file, etc. Or get small containers and organize your jewelry on it for a vanity.

You could buy a pretty plate and glue it to the top after spray-painting the lazy Susan a matching color. If it comes apart, you could buy 2 plates made from a material that you could drill holes through and cover the bottom level as well...maybe a slightly bigger plate on the bottom.

If I have known that people like them, I would have kept them and gave them to you. I do a lot of arts and crafts. I do use recycled thing for a lot of my arts and crafts.The reason for not keeping these lazy Susan, it was so greasy and I tried to wash them, but I can still feel the greasy. Now I don't cook fried food anymore.

I love these. I'm a painter so I use mine for my painting supplies. I save my tin cans and cover them with leftover white embossed wall paper and keep my supplies in them. on the lazy susan. Works really good.

Krylon plastic paints are great for this. You could glue wood pegs onto it to hold sewing threads so they do not slip.

I use one for medications in a kitchen cabinet. I keep all her medications in one place, not in the traditional medicine cabinet. The Lazy Susan is handy for small pill bottles, boxes of antacid, vitamins and the like.

I put it on the table by the area where I prep the dog's and cat's food - I store their various medications on it (I foster old & sick dogs, so there are always lots of meds!) It helps to keep things handy and easy to remember to dispense them with the food.

If you use only the bottom part that spins you can put in on the top shelf inside of your frig to put small jar stuff like pickles jellys etc. Then instead of taking items out to get to a back item just spin to the front.
