Family Jewelry Christmas Tree
who says they have to match? Wear 2 different earings at the same time.
First see if any are fine metals like gold or silver and sell it! You can get quite a bit for precious metals these days, and they just melt it down and resell. What left over, kids would love crafts with these like glueing on a small lamp, pencil holder or small trinket box. Spray paint them or keep as they are, and colorful rinestones or beads mixed in is fun too!
They'd make interesting lamp shade embellishment. Also use them as pendants pretty easily, or embellish clothes with them.
It's a pretty idea but I'm concerned that you have sooo many single earrings and how that came about.
With forth of July coming up as the next holiday, if you have any red, blue, ear rings, start to make a word, like HURRAH, I AM FREE !!!, in red, blue, and other colors, that are of our flag. You may also be able to make a flag, with these colors. Best wishes.
We put them in home made stepping stones. I have a beautiful one with my grandma's old jewelery in it.
WINE GLASS CHARMS.
Thread beads onto hoops or if hoops are wide, glue beads on the hoop. Each hoop needs to be different. I'm sure you receive donations of beads or broken necklaces, you can use these beads. Then you can sell the wine glass charms.
Book Markers: .Take the more decorative hoops, or bead the hoops, loop a ribbon through it and glue it together. The ribbon is in the book and the hoop hangs outside the book.
I love this idea!!! I am always looking for crafts I can make to donate to a friends fundraisers and this is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Decorate plain mirrors or frames, glue on with metal glue or hot melt glue. Turn it into a work of art. Draw a picture, fill in with broken jewellery. My daughter made a gold fish.
Wind chimes.
Some can be attached as zipper pulls....both practical and decorative!
Only one hole in each ear? Put another hole in one ear only. I love wearing my single earrings in that hole.
I have one 14k gold earring. Its too nice to use as a bulletin board push pin but not worth enough to sale. Any ideas? I was thinking about pinning it to the top of my tall boots in the winter. Im open to better ideas lol
Sell as Mis Matched Pairs! One long and one short - One plain and one Fancy - One silver and One Gold etc. Use to make Pictures or decorate Cushions or make new pieces of jewellery.
I've seen jewelry used in steampunk art designs and Christmas decorations...like ornaments and jewel wreaths and trees. Just add them to styrofoam bases. I've also seen them used to make jewelry bouquets for brides.
Many people remake them into art - Christmas trees, collages, etc. They would also make great wine glass charms.
I've seen them used added to the cuff ribbing on sweaters. It always draws a conversation :) depending upon the uniqueness of the earring. Also, if they are the pierced type, you can often use them as push pins on a bulletin board. You could also make "sets" of these to use as gifts for your lady friends.
Could you mack Open Rings with them. Cut end and smooth over? If successful, you would have something else you could sell? Use them as Scarf Rings ?
I knew a lady you took single earrings and made toe rings or ear cuffs using them. This of course depends on the shape of the earring.
Oh my goodness what a fun thread! It’s been years since it was started..but rereading is so fun! I am excited to find and do! 👏
Gather them together in a shadow box using black velvet or felt. Make a pretty design using the single earrings....great conversation piece!
I have a friend who took a styrofoam Christmas tree and covered with vintage jewelry. It was gorgeous. You could also do a wreath.
Little girls would love these when playing dress up.
Use them in a Christmas wreathe.
I have used them for decorations on a Christmas tree, decorate Christmas Gifts. Make bracelets. Donate to school and nursing homes for their craft projects.
Make Book Marks or maybe use as Spangles for Bobbins as in Bobbin Lace,
Make a Christmas tree on a foam cylinder form.
