How do I seal my basement windows from the inside?

I discovered that my basement windows are leaking a large amount of cold air. There is also a lot of condensation on the inside of the windows. These are terrible basement windows and I want to know whats the best way to seal them shut. The basement is not a liveable space so I'm not concerned about escaping a fire. The basement is referred to as the dungeon for obvious reasons.

Seriously look into replacing with double or tripple glazed window!
Hi Jeff: Use some caulking on the area. Make sure it's clean and dry and there's no paint chips or other stuff in the area and just follow the directions on the tube.
Hello Jeff, hope this helps you. Seal basement windows for winter, first, clean and dry the window frame. Then, apply caulk to fill gaps around the exterior frame and use weatherstripping to seal moving parts like the window sash. For a more robust solution, install window insulator film to create a dead-air space or use removable foam board insulation to block drafts.
Apply weatherstripping around the window frames to prevent air leaks before completely covering the windows with heavy-duty plastic window insulation film using the heat-shrink technique to create an airtight seal. For a more long-lasting solution, cover the entire window with rigid foam insulation board that has been trimmed to size and sealed with caulk or tape after using expanding spray foam to fill in any gaps around the window frame. Another option is to cover every edge with removable caulk. By keeping cold air out, insulation will help with drafts and moisture problems because the condensation signals considerable temperature variations.
To seal basement windows from the inside, clean the frame, remove old caulk, and apply a new bead of silicone-latex caulk into the seams. Smooth the caulk with a wet finger to create a tight seal and wipe away any excess. For more comprehensive sealing, consider adding rigid insulation, a removable caulk-like sealant, or installing weather stripping around the window's moving parts.
Hi Jeff: You can caulk the frame edges. That's what worked for me :)
