This is so annoying! I don't have pictures but on my last couch I just basted big pieces of velcro to the bottom of each cushion and to it's corresponding spot on the seat of the couch.
On my old couch I used that shelf liner that looks like a bumpy waffle weave. Just run a whole line of it under the front edge of the cushions underneath

use the same stuff prop,e put under rugs to keep the from sliding.
There are different kinds of Velcro type fastener products. If replacing only one side/part of it, you will need to use same kind as original or the 2 pieces may not lock together. Best solution for Velcro is to buy matching pieces or sets & replace both sides/parts on whatever it's being used on. Test the 2 pieces before applying them to make sure they are compatible with each other & will hold.
Hope this helps explain why it likely didn't work.
Try spray adhesive on the sofa base and and the cushion bottoms. 😇
try shelf liner or carpet liner - kind of a rubbery material
How about a non skid rug pad? Also in the houseware section there is a similar product for glassware and dishes. Here is a link for them at Target, but they are sold just about everywhere.

I sewed on a loophole. Then tied the cushion down.
You could try some strong adhesive velcro. You can buy it in different lengths and strengths at a local fabric store. It may not solve the problem completely but it should help.
rug gripper should work-it just depends on the "decking": fabric or woven material that supports the cushions.
You can buy self adhesive velcro tape. That will work, cheap and easy.
Put double sided Velcro strips on the bottom of the cushions and the tops of the sofa base. You can buy it by the yard at any fabric store.
You can get an underlayment used to keep futon mattresses from slipping off. Here's one that I bought years ago, but didn't need:

I have heard of using the waffle stuff that is generally used for shelf lining....cut a square and put in between your cushions. Also how about the stuff that you use on the back of throw rugs to keep them from slipping? Or is it possible to sew big snaps on the underside of your cushion and couch ? Maybe in the back corners?
Are your cushions leather on both sides? If so, you'll need to sew a non slip cover onto the underside of each cushion to prevent movement.
If cushions are fabric, perhaps the stuffing has collapsed over the years, causing surface fabric to have excessive movement. Your option would be to remove covers, add foam and batting, then reattach cushion covers, insuring a tight fit.
sew them together? would take an upholstery needle ( large, CURVED ), and heavy duty upholstery thread but a fabric center should have what you need;
Use square carpet samples to put under the cushion. They will stay in place and also give some added support.
HI Catherine, you can buy small disc-shaped non-slip rubber pads to stop them from moving. They can be stuck on the bottom of the cushions
Remove underside of cushions and replace with non slip fabric.
Buy the non-product that you put under rugs, and cut to size. Be sure to get the kind that absolutely guarantees it won't transfer to your cushions.
Hi Anneliese, you can try putting anti slip fabric between the coach and the cushions. It's like a rubber fabric that causes friction. Amazon sells it by the meter
Go to dollar store and get the rolls of rubber shelving
Liners. Cut to size you need. I've used and works great.
I use the rubber net like material that you put underneath rugs so they do not move. I use those for everything, under my blender, food processor, cutting boars etc...You can cut them to shape. I have also seen them with shelf liners at big box stores (this would be the least expensive way if you only want to use them for your couch.
You can buy a sticky sort of Batting that does the job or rubber type mesh used by Invalids to hold plates etc. in place.
Yes the Velcro will help that or a towel under it use one same color as the couch
Velcro!
They make furniture pins (they are more cork screwed shape) these hold the cushions without them sliding out everytime someone sits on them.
Use non-slip shelf liner under the cushions.
Use velcro.
Purchase some adhesive (rather than sewn on) Velcro as instructions state. One or two pieces on each cushion and couch should help keep the cushions in place correctly. Measure so he placement is correct.
Velcro or Tacky Rug liner or rubber mat used to prevent slipping.
Hi Karen, hope this helps you out.

You can use a thin rubber carpet no slip pad and place it between the base of the sofa and the cusion.
We use rubbermaid shelf liners on ours.
Double stick tape or Velcro
The soft roll honeycomb shelf liner as Debbie suggested is a great idea. Cut a section and place beneath each cushion.
You can buy the non slip stuff on a roll. or use Velcro
A rubber mat offers a better grip on the cushion, which keeps it intact in place.
You can put rug gripper pads underneath. Also large Velcro strips.
