Can I make a King Size headboard fit a CA king bed?
A few years ago we bought our son a CA king bed and his original king size headboard has never fit. It's too wide. It has matching side tables so we would like to make this one work. Is there any way to manipulate it to fit so it doesn't flop?

Hi Marsha. This should fix the problem. They are also available at Kohls & on Ebay. https://www.amazon.com/Bedlok-California-King-Hook-Conversion/dp/B004HIXJ90
Yes, add blocks of wood to the inside of the legs until they line up with the bed frame. Just screw them on. Happy dreams

Making a queen headboard work for a king mattress
Yes cal king is only longer
This is the difference between a regular and a California King so a King size headboard would be 2" wider on each side but should work.
These two mattresses differ in their dimensions:
So the regular king is the widest standard mattress you can buy, and the California king is the longest.
Did you ever find a solution? I am in a similar situation and need some pointers
We put our headboard between the wall and bed....not attached to anything. You could try that and put the side tables where they go and see if it looks weird. You may have to keep the side tables two inches from the mattress. What type of headboard do you have? Could it be shortened? I just went and looked at our king sized bed and the night stands are about 2 inches away from the head board because of the bedspread, pillows and etc. Good luck.
Hi Marsha, hope this video helps you out. It says queen, cut you can adapt measurements if needed
