Want to have this window open all day but able to add privacy at night
Need to be able to add privacy to this large kitchen bay window. Love the wide open look in the day but feel like I’m in a fish bowl at night! Don’t know if a curtain would look right and if I add blinds I then need to add a topper which I’m not a fan of to cover hardware. Everything looks so plain and square. Bay windows in kitchen are not easy to treat. Will appreciate any suggestions you may have!

Hi Jane, can you post a picture of the window so we can see exactly what your window looks like?
Without a picture, it's a little hard to say, but my first thought is Roman Shades. Here's a link with more ideas for you, Jane:

Hello. An alternate idea might be a privacy film. They are very commonly used in bathrooms and around front entry doors.
So many different choices
We recently did this in three bathrooms. It lets in ample bright light but you have the complete privacy......if you could find one that was pleasing.
Truthfully we wish we thought of this sooner and didn’t waste hundreds of dollars on the custom pleated shades. It’s a much cleaner and less heavy look. It may not be something you wish to consider but I thought I’d throw the idea out there. Hope you find the perfect solution.

Hi Jane, I have seen some beautiful blinds (not mini blinds but rolled ones) that actually attach to the bottom of your window. They roll upwards instead of down so that you can roll them up to whatever height you feel comfortable at and then the top of the window stays clear. This might be a great idea because you could put on or all up or down and still have part of your window open while part of it is blocked for privacy.
Hi Jane, here are a few gorgeous ideas that may inspire you https://www.bhg.com/decorating/window-treatments/basics/bay-and-bow-window-treatment-ideas/
Hello Jane,
Either use Main Curtains and pull them at night, either following the Bay or across it, OR
Roller or Venetian or Vertical Blinds would work.
You can have custom shutters made that will work inside the window. I have a friend who used to work at a shutter and cabinet shop, he built these many times so it is definitely a do-able idea.
Blinds on each individual window. Your choice of blind style.
here is my response again from first post hope it helps

Hi Jane, you can pick up a top down bottom up blind for this window that does not require a topper.

Go to amazon and put pretty privacy film into the search bar. They have LOTS to choose from and some beautiful patterns.
Yes I do
A Roman Shade might be nice, or use cafe curtains.
