A Courtyard With New Orleans Flair

This project was a small backyard of a town home. The clients had wanted to transform their existing backyard with a small patio to a New Orleans style courtyard. The homeowners enjoyed gourmet cooking and fine wines and wanted a place for entertaining friends. Their wish list included a fountain and planters.
After meeting with the clients, I developed three conceptual designs for the area. Once a design was finalized we began gathering our team of professionals to implement the various elements of the courtyard.
Special iron work was made to conceal the fuse-box, and a brick wall +/- 36" allowed for storage of garden tools.
We were not allowed to attach any new walls to the existing older walls. Our mason took extra care to match the bricks for the fountain and planter. The original bricks were over-sized and no longer manufactured.
The project extended eight months from the beginning of the design process to the completed installation. In addition to bricks, ceramic tile and custom fencing and lighting were installed.
