Hi, I have several of these. I like to put ornaments and a string of lights in them. They can be changed out to whatever the season, like colored plastic eggs, and lights, etc.

Fill with baubles and battery lights.
Related to this article is the fact that I need a huge jar like this to put my dried goods in (quinoa) and I cannot get my hands on one. Where can I locate this on a very frugal budget if anyone happens to know. Nice ideas everyone has.
Found mine at Hobby Lobby
I just bought two large jars from Ross. Hit and miss, but I always check there first.
Authentic vintage ones can be found @ antique stores, etc
I have one I have filled with marbles. Looks amazing, but be careful filling it and or moving it. It is quite heavy full.
I have a large one I keep different types of wood clothes pins in it,on a shelf in my laundry room. One jar has a sewing kit, another has loose change from sons pants pocket( dollars too) & misc pens, safety pins stuff removed from pants pockets,markers..
I think it would make awesome lamp base. Could paint glass a pretty or neutral color. Use twine rope burlap something rustic to cover lamp wiring inside if u keep glass clear. Also sand and shells inside instead of flowers.
You can make a terrarium
Buttons or old spare coins maybe!
Electric candles...with timers that go on and off by themselves!!
At this time of the year I'd buy battery-operated holiday lights in multiple colors and place into the jar and place in a prominent place or even in a lonely corner.
Marbles or loose change from pockets every night!
You could fill it with rice and store this in your pantry or any other dry food stuff like beans or pasta.
Pinecones or acorns.
What about a terrarium?
Pinecones!
I have several jars like this. I store dry pantry food items - rice, dry beans, pasta, etc. They're displayed on kitchen shelves and counters.
Candy, cookies, homemade tea or lemonade.
Awesome jar!! I’d use it for drinks or make anorgone w crystals
I store rice and pasta in mine. Could make a terrarium or put fairy light in it.
Christmas ornaments! Small gourds! Beans! Anything that will fit!

Any food item would work but we use ours to store weed in.
Shells in the summer, pinecones in the winter!
You could use Pulses and dried Peas, Pasta in coloured circles or mix them up.
I would make a pretty terrarium.
Silk flowers and fairy lights.
Plants, Fairy Garden, Doll or Ornament that will fit upside down, then sit it upon the screw top lid and stick a slice of wood etc. onto lid to give a wider base for assetic reasons.
Shred newspaper, junk mail, etc. add wter and school glue and shape into various sized balls. Paint the individual balls in various colors, let dry and then add to your Mason jar. You can paint the paper balls to contrast/coordinate with your home decor. Pretty much a "free" addition.

You can also fill your jar with potpourri, shells, and other decorations. If you are looking for ideas, try going for a nature walk. The shells, stones and river pebbles that you find might inspire you to line the base of your mason jar with something a little heavier than you originally considered.

Hi Dawn: You can make a little snow scene in it, or whatever for every season.
