Glass Beaded Trees
These sparkly DIY glass beaded trees were inspired by a photo in a popular catalog!
These trees from Frontgate were my inspiration! Aren't they beautiful?
You will need poster board, Mod Podge, scissors, a pencil and string, and about a pound of glass beads. You can get creative and use any color you wish! I wanted a silvery iridescence. And you should use a variety of types: bugle beads, cut bead and seed beads.
I decided to try my hand at making the cones myself. I found this great tutorial online for making the cones out of poster board and I made 3 cones of varying height in no time!
Then all I did was combine the beads in a pyrex cup and, holding over another piece of poster board, gently shook the beads over the cones, turning as I went. I did the tops first and let dry, then went back and did the bottoms.

I save $ on beading by buying formals & other clothing with bling at thrift stores & taking off the beads. Most time on formals the beading is on with a chain stitch & is easy to remove.

So nice. However, I have tried to make cones and they never turn out even on the bottom.
