Transform empty soda bottles into festive Valentine’s Day decorations!

1. Cut the Bottle

Take an empty soda bottle and cut off the top where the shape begins to change.

I used a knife to make the first cut, then switched to scissors for more control.

If you don’t drink soda, check for sparkling water bottles with a similar shape—they work just as well!

2. Cut the Foil

Cut a small strip of aluminum foil, about an inch wide. That’s all you’ll need for this step!

3. Wrap the Twine in Foil

Cut a piece of twine to your desired hanging length.

Take the small strip of aluminum foil from the previous step and wrap it around the ends of the twine.

Roll it into a tight ball to secure it in place.

4. Attach the Twine to the Bottle

Thread the twine loop through the mouth of the soda bottle top.

The aluminum foil wad will keep it secure inside, while the twine sticks out, creating a handy hanging loop.

5. Fill the Bottle Top with Candy

Add Valentine's candy, heart-shaped messages, or any small treats into the soda bottle top.

Get creative with what you put inside!

6. Cut a Large Piece of Foil

7. Wrap the Bottle in Foil

Gently pull the aluminum foil up around the sides of the bottle top.

Fold the long edges over the mouth of the bottle and tuck them inside to keep everything securely in place.

8. Shape the Top

Pinch any excess foil around the mouth of the bottle to form the classic Hershey’s Kiss shape.

9. Cut the Ribbon

Cut several 3-4 inch strips of Valentine-themed ribbon in different colors and prints.

Get creative with the patterns!

10. Add the Ribbons

Tuck 3 strips of ribbon (per kiss) into the mouth of the bottle top, nestling them among the foil.

This will secure them in place, and they'll act as the "flags" hanging from the top, just like on real Hershey's Kisses.

String your giant kisses onto a piece of twine or a pompom garland, then hang them wherever you like to add some festive flair!

These are really cute. How about adding a cardboard disc to bottom to hold shape

Instead of tying the kisses on to the strand of string, I would suggest to clip them on with re-usable mini-clothes pins. This attachment would help prevent the kisses from sliding down towards the lowest part of the string, and would make them easier for guests to remove.
