How to Clean a White Sink & Quartz Countertops
It’s tough to know exactly how to clean a white sink and keep it sparkling. I had the same problem learning how to clean white quartz countertops, too. But I found one product that does the trick: Bar Keepers Friend. I use the powder though it also comes in soft scrub form. Take a look at how easy it is!
Tools and materials:
- Liquid dish soap
- Bar Keepers Friend cleanser (I use the Original Multi-Surface Stain Remover Powder)
- Baking soda
- Hot or boiling water
- Soft cloth or sponge
- Measuring cup
- Sink stopper or drain plug
How to clean a white sink
Step 1: Prepare your sink
Before starting the cleaning process, ensure your white sink and quartz worktops are clear of any dishes or debris. You want a clean slate to begin.
Clean the sink dish mat or dish drainer mat with liquid dish soap before you get to the sink.
Step 2: Apply Bar Keepers Friend cleanser and scrub
Sprinkle Bar Keepers Friend cleanser generously on the surface of your white sink. With a damp cloth or sponge, gently scrub the surfaces in a circular motion. The cleanser should create a slight paste as it mixes with water.
If you have stubborn stains or areas that need extra attention, you can apply more Bar Keepers Friend cleanser and scrub a bit harder. Also, apply cleanser and scrub your counter near the sink. Just be sure not to scratch the surfaces.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly
Once you're satisfied with the cleanliness of your sink and counter, rinse them thoroughly with warm water. Make sure you remove all traces of the cleanser.
Step 4: Clean and freshen the drain with baking soda
Measure 1 cup of baking soda. Pour it down the drain, then follow it up with very hot or boiling water. This will also help to prevent clogs and keep your sink draining smoothly.
Step 5: Dry the sink
Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe down your sink and worktops, leaving them looking clean and streak-free.
How to clean a white sink
That’s how to clean a white sink and keep it sparkling clean. It’s also how to clean white quartz countertops. The Bar Keepers Friend cleanser effortlessly removes stains, grime, and discoloration, and leaves a fresh and bright finish all with minimal effort, too.
Remember to periodically repeat these cleaning steps to keep your kitchen looking pristine. Let me know in the comments what you think about Bar Keepers Friend and if you use the soft cleanser or the powder!
