Blinds are really annoying to clean, so when I found this clever trick on the internet using salad tongs, I thought I would give it a try! I can’t tell you how great it was for getting the dust off the blinds -- with so little effort.

Isn't that like magic?!

Here are my dirty blinds. Look how dusty those suckers are!

Gather your materials

I used a pair of tongs, a microfiber cloth, and two rubber bands.

Cut the cloth

Because of the thickness of my tongs, I had to cut the cloth into fourths so that they would fit between the slats of the blinds. If you're using a thinner cloth, you might not need to do this.

Secure the cloths

I wrapped a cloth around each arm of the tongs, then I used a rubber band to secure it in place making an X with the rubber band by slipping it over the cloth, giving it a twist, then slipping it over again.

Now you’re ready to clean those dirty blinds!

Get ready to say goodbye to all that dust and muck!

Probably could use those socks that lost their mates that the washer ate, and put on the tongs with the rubber bands?

OMG...LMaO...I love that you videoed the "white glove" test!! Nice cleaning hack but my blinds have those vertical strings that run every so many inches...it's a royal pain in the 'white glove' LoL With oil heating, 3 cats and 2 smokers in the house...it's a fulltime job keeping all of my blinds that meticulously clean!! There's gotta be an easier way!!!

I used to do this until I discovered microfiber gloves. Now I just put on a pair of those gloves and wipe. It's really easy to get into all the little spots on the blind including that spot right by the lift cords. When you are done, just throw the gloves in the washer and hang to dry.
