Using a hairdryer just MOVES the dust to somewhere else. Just rinse in water and let drip dry. Alcohol on light bulbs is just weird. Use a damp cloth. A brush on knick-knacks does the same thing as a hairdryer. It moves dust around not remove it. AGAIN nothing a damp cloth won't do and it cleans better and removes the dirt. Smearing bread on a paint is equally daft. Use the bread to feed the birds. Use a damp cloth to wipe off a painting.
