Z on Nov 03, 2015Not that I know of. I agree that it would add some extra character to your wall. Please take before, during and after pictures to come back and share with us. I'd love to see it.Helpful Reply

Nostromo on Nov 04, 2015If you cut the nails off and grind the jagged ends such that they're smooth and flush, there should be no reason to remove them completely. Just position the boards such that all the nail heads are uniformly on the outside (or inside) as the boards are placed on the wall. And be EXTREMELY careful about the pallets you use! Recycling/upcycling them is a grand idea, but pallets can contain whatever chemicals were shipped on them throughout their lifespans. Take care not to use old pallet wood in places where children are bound to rub them with their hands. (The same goes for old cross ties as well.) If you're not sure about the pedigree of either the pallets or the wood, remember to seal them LIBERALLY with paint, polyurethane or 'polycrylic.'Helpful Reply

Melissa on Nov 08, 2015There is no REAL reason to have to remove the nails. And I agree, they do add character to the project. If I were you I would just saw them flush and leave them. Looks like a great project. KCCO. (Keep Calm and Craft On)Helpful Reply
