I cover them with fabric, paint, contact paper, decoupage,.... and use them as risers in the decor above my kitchen cabinets. I also sort craft supplies in them and label them for storage ( like sorting colors of tile and broken China for mosaic). I have a painted one in my entryway for holding store bags to take while walking my dog ( big dog, so bigger bag makes pick up cleaner and easier). Also, have some salt melt in a decorated coffee can by the doors so the huge ugly bag can be stored. I decorate and use them for canisters in my cabinets for things like bags of powdered sugar, brown sugar, dried beans....keep my coffee machine filters in one in the camper, and many for storage there.....
Paint them different colors for canisters or junk (nails, screws) holders.

They make great storage containers for use in the garage or kitchen. Decorate them in any fashion that pleases you, label what's in each one, stack them high, let kids use them for small toy storage. So many great suggestions you've already received. Use them as table legs for a kid's table by painting them, gluing 2-high and and making 4 legs, placing a table top on them.

I bake bread in mine. Also you could cover them and stick them side by side to make a toilet paper holder and attach to the wall.
I would cover them with decoupage rice paper or fabric and use them to display faux flowers.

Empty Illy metal coffee cans are sleek, sturdy, and too good to toss—they're practically begging to be repurposed! Here are some creative, stylish, and even practical ways to reuse them:
☕️ Chic & Functional Decor
1. Kitchen Storage
Use them to hold utensils, coffee pods, or tea bags. Add chalkboard labels or paint them in coordinating colors for a modern look.
2. Herb Planters
Drill a few drainage holes in the bottom and plant herbs like basil or mint. They look especially cute lined up on a windowsill.
3. Vases or Flower Arrangements
Pop in some faux or fresh flowers—these cans make perfect DIY vases for centerpieces or table styling.
4. Candle Holders
Pour your own candles into the cans for a high-end, reusable look. Use wood wicks for a rustic twist.
5. Bathroom Organizers
Store cotton balls, makeup brushes, or toothbrushes in them—wrap them in pretty paper or rope for a softer finish.
🎨 Crafty Projects & Organization
6. Craft Supply Holders
Store paintbrushes, markers, or scissors in them. Mount a few on a pegboard or shelf for easy access.
7. Mini Tool Kits or Hardware Storage
Keep nails, screws, or other bits and bobs neatly organized in the garage or workshop.
8. Desktop Organizers
Group a few cans together to create a sleek desk caddy—perfect for pens, pencils, and clips.
