Command hooks are intended for smooth surfaces. You're not going to be able to use them sucessfully on textured walls.

The manufacturer says they won't work on textured surfaces. Sorry.

I own an older home, and it Is frustrating. My walls are adobe, so it’s difficult to use nails, too. Instead of hanging pictures, try vinyl lettering. It is easily removed. It’s a little trickier to apply when the walls aren’t smooth, but I’ve been able to do it. They are not so expensive on www.Wish.com. You might want to get an extra set to practice with.

Maybe. Some people have been able to use them on textured walls. Get the biggest one possible and you have to push VERY hard but you are taking a chance if they will stick and if they do for how long.

I don't know what you want to hang I've used the hooks shown below if I wanted to hang a lot of weight. I've boght them, it seems like at the drug store. They're known as Money Hooks. I found a link on line, https://monkeyhook.com/

If you just want to hang a hook for clothes. I'd just go ahead and hang whatever you want and cover the holes with white toothpaste when you leave !!!

I have textured walls and have used Command Hooks for years. I currently have 6 in my bathrooms holding bath towels. No problem. When mounting them use the piece that touched the wall and hang that first. Then let it sit for a day +/- and then finish mounting. I do live in the desert so I'm not sure if humidity would play a role in how they would stick.

I know this isn't the best tip but I finally got fed up with mine not sticking so I added a drop of e6000 to the wall. When I removed the command strip, just a small spot where the glue was added took the paint off. I was able to touch it up just fine with paint. Not sure if that's an option for you but it's an idea ☺

I have textured walls in my classroom. The command strips with Velcro are the only ones that hold .You might want to get those and use them on the back of your hooks .

Be sure to wipe the spot on the wall with some rubbing alcohol to clean first. Do not attach the strip to the hook. Peel off the "wall side" and put the strip on the wall, pressing for 30 seconds. This should help getting the adhesive into the crevices.

The hook that you have in the photo has a clear plastic thing on the back of the hook to enable you to access the tab to remove the hook later. Remove this. Be sure it is in the correct position to replace the hook; remove the other side of the adhesive covering, stick the clear plastic thing on the command strip and hold 30 seconds. Wait 24 hours then put your hook on and use.

if this doesn't work, try using 2 strips on top of each other to fill in the crevices of the wall and follow the same instructions. You can always put a little glue on the plastic thing to help it stick to the command strip.

    Hope this helps.

I'm starting my Ms K Ghetto Fabulous Lifestyle Decor, Fashion and Foodie. Now And new to empty nesting the weather changes isn't helping my episodes of Bipolar 1 , PTSD, Anxiety and Depression for I'm truly an overprotective Momma 🐻 . This picture is of the textured beam in my apt home and been renting for over five years the command hooks are upside down to hold up my grommet curtain as a combination privacy and weather aid in aid saving money electricity bill without a rod. Anyway to answer your great question is obviously application and time for the adhesive to cure for it to stay stuck to the surface. Plus paying attention to the weight of the item is the most important choice and purchasing hooks that is made for at least two pounds heavier on each individual hook. Simply don't repaint just clean each section with ordinary rubbing alcohol from the $ store and use like I did on my older walls let dry. Wear an apron with two pockets put in the ruler, pencil and hooks in one pocket and the adhesive strips in the other pocket. My step stool can hold 500 pounds of first my first hook cut in one inch from the wall to place the first hook up placed the adhesive strip onto the hook counted about 30 secs for it to stick removed the other side put it on the first space pressed it very hard for about an one or two mins, sat down to collect my thoughts and measured the space between the grommets, mine being 8" got back on step stool and marked six" between the first and second hook, repeated until all 8 up and waiting the 60 minutes plus for it stick before putting on the curtain. Hopefully that'll help you out and saw it done on YouTube and decided to try the strips are Hyper Tough Brand sold at my local Walmart saved about .75 cents.

Hi Andrea, unfortunately you can't use them on textured walls, Here is a quote off their website. Do not use Command™ Products on textured walls or surfaces, wallpaper, brick, rough or non-stick surfaces, or fabrics.
