Has Anyone Tried an Art Deco Christmas Tree Look?

I’m thinking of trying an Art Deco Christmas tree theme this year with bold geometric shapes and lots of metallics.

Has anyone decorated their tree like this before? I’d love to hear your ideas or see your photos for inspiration!

I think this would be a great idea! I have not done this and I looked on Pinterest and saw some amaZing ornmanents and trees. Have fun with the colors, and shapes you choose. Merry Christmas

Your idea sounds like great fun. You can likely find suitable ornaments by checking out consignment and thrift stores. You might even be able to use oarigami (spelling?) which is (paper folding) to make your own uniquely shaped ornaments and then hand or spray painting using metallic paints. Your tree could be a conversation starter for sure and you could add more ornaments through the years.

My sister did a few years ago and it was very pretty and cool but she didn't do it again because she said it didn't feel like a traditional Christmas tree.

Hi Sarah, hope this helps you. Most people who are very particular do this without even realizing it's art deco. It all comes down to personal taste. Myself I love a well balanced Christmas tree!

  • I haven’t but that sounds like a very fantastic theme!

  • I would check thrift stores for deco ornaments, tinsel and even trees.

  • I have not done this but it sounds like a fantastic look. If you need inspiration, try Pinterest or an image search on Google.
